Ich bin Kevin, Junior-Chef im Alp Cron Moarhof. Im Alter von 14 Jahren wurde der Wunsch nach Mobilität in mir geweckt und so wurde das erste Moped angeschafft. Südtirol ist ein traditionsreiches Land, deshalb habe auch ich bei der Wahl des fahrbaren Untersatzes auf Tradition geachtet: es war eine alte Vespa 50 ccm, die mich von da an über den Sommer begleitete.
Nach der allgemeinen Schulpflicht entschied ich mich gemeinsam mit meinem Bruder in die Fußstapfen unserer Eltern zu treten und eine Ausbildung an der Hotelfachschule zu absolvieren. Durch die Ausbildung im fernen Meran war ich zu dieser Zeit nur selten Zuhause, sodass die mittlerweile gelb-rot lackierte Vespa in der Garage verstaubte.
Nach einem kurzen Intermezzo auf der Universität in Mailand zog es mich endgültig wieder zurück in die Berge. Mein Interesse für das Motorradfahren war damals zwar schon vorhanden, beschränkte sich aber mangels passendem Führerschein noch auf das passive Verfolgen von diversen Motorradrennen im Fernsehen.
Im Dezember 2006 war es endlich soweit, ich bestand die Prüfung für den Motorradführerschein. Meine Fahrstunden absolvierte ich im Oktober und November, bei gefühlten -20°C. Doch es sollte nochmals ein paar Jahre bis zum ersten eigenen Bike dauern. Ein guter Freund hat mir eines Tages seine nagelneue KTM vorgestellt und damit endgültig das Fieber für ein eigenes Motorrad in mir entfacht. Noch am selben Tag fuhr ich nach Bozen und kaufte mir eine Ducati Monster 696.
Da meine Freizeit im Hotel oft ziemlich knapp ausfällt, genieße ich es umso mehr, wenn ich bei herrlichem Wetter ein paar Kilometer mit meiner "Duc" abspulen kann. Die Touren über die unzähligen Dolomiten-Pässe vor unserer Haustür sind mein idealer Ausgleich.
