High-altitude euphoria & Mozartkugeln
There is a reason why the pass roads in the Alps are known as a first-class experience. No other types of roads offer such an impressive panorama. Motorcyclists are of course especially attracted to the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. After all, it is Austria’s highest situated road, stretching to the base of the Grossglockner. 48 kilometres with 36 curves and an elevation leading uphill to more than 2.500 metres above sea level promise a motorbike and nature experience of the special kind.
Impressive natural attractions off route
But also, the Alps‘ biggest national park, the steepest waterfall in Central Europe and the world’s largest ice cave can be found here and are worthwhile stops on motorbike tours through the Salzburger Land.
As a good host, I sometimes have to be horrible to my guests. Especially when we leave on a tour to the Grossglockner at the crack of dawn to experience an unforgettable sunrise - all is forgiven after that.
As a trained mechanic and passionate biker, I knew early on what guests I would like to welcome in our hotel. Thus, we and some colleagues got together and called our group ”Vier Häuser für zwei Räder - Four houses for two wheels”, which became MoHo 10 years later.
"Curves and Delight" is the motto my wife, Nadja, and I have chosen for our country hotel. This is exactly what we would like to offer our guests every day. So, on your motorbike and off to Altenmarkt.
Motorcycling is one of my passions, “MoHo - Motorbike Hotels“ is the other. Together with some colleagues, I played a significant part in the foundation 20 years ago. I have been chairman of our group since then.
When your dad has 150 vintage cars and motorbikes in a museum in the hotel’s cellar, then no further explanation is needed. At least not when it comes to my passion for anything on wheels. It doesn’t matter how many wheels as long as it is fast.
If you grow up directly on a pass road, you are literally injected with a passion for the motorbikes roaring by. It was clear to me from the beginning: if I took over the family business one day, the biker guests would be number 1 for me.
