A holiday in Tyrol – just like you imagine it: a family-run hotel with cool Tyrolean hosts, surrounded by the wonderful alpine landscape of the Paznaun Valley. “Der Lenz” in See has always been a popular meeting point in the valley and has been a top address for over 50 years. Back then, Grandma Berta had the crazy idea of building a petrol station. People in the valley simply shook their heads. A woman and a petrol station – what a gamble! But this highly unusual model became a real success story that continues to this day.
“Der Lenz” is known as home for everyone who likes to eat and, above all, likes to eat well. Authentic Tyrolean cuisine as well as fine, modern creations in an ambience that radiates the cosiness that makes a journey into the Alps so unique. You’ll find everything here: a wood-panelled public room and a warm, cosy bench by the stove; 120 seats in the sunshine on a large terrace and plenty of fun in the ”Berg-Rausch-Hütte“ barn.
And if you prefer to relax after an eventful day on the motorbike: no problem. Sauna fans will be in heaven when the call goes out to add the infusion and the spray sizzles off the red-hot stones. An aroma steam bath, infra-red cabin, Kneipp trail, chill-out room and garden are the perfect ingredients for wonderfully relaxing hours.

The Paznaun Valley in Tyrol is situated in a picturesque setting, in the middle of the Central Alps and surrounded by the impressive 3,000-metre high mountain peaks of the Verwall, Samnaun and Silvretta Alps. Just get on your bike in the heart of the Austria, Italy and Switzerland tri-border region and off you go! With the wide range of fantastic tours, every biker will find exactly what they are looking for – we promise! Its central location makes our hotel the perfect starting point for longer tours such as the Dolomites, but also for small stages like the Timmelsjoch, Kaunertal Glacier and the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe.
There is a good reason why the Silvretta Bielerhöhe is the highest destination in Montafon as Piz Buin (3,312 m), the highest mountain in the Silvretta, dominates the surroundings. The Bielerhöhe is accessed via the impressive Silvretta High Alpine Road, which starts directly from See via the main Paznaun Valley road. Anyone who loves enjoying views of amazing alpine landscapes will also love the Silvretta High Alpine Road. Picture-postcard moments guaranteed!

You can enjoy a wide range of benefits with the All-Inclusive Silvretta Card. For example, you can take the latest motorbike models for a test ride at a discounted rate at the High-Bike Test Centre in Paznaun. You can also use the Silvretta High Alpine Road for free. From the beginning of May until end of October, you will receive the card free of charge when you check in to our hotel. If you stay for at least 3 nights, you will also get a discount voucher for a motorbike article from our Shell petrol station in See. And if you stay for at least 6 nights, we’ll also give you one night for free.

In order to tell the story of how we, the Lenz Family, discovered motorcycling we have to turn back the clock a bit – 50 years to be precise, when my Grandma Berta had the crazy idea of building a petrol station with an adjoining cafe. The people in the valley simply shook their heads: a woman and a petrol station – that will never work.
Cars and motorbikes were also repaired at our petrol station back then and my father started an apprenticeship to become a mechanic. The memories of that time still make him chuckle. He often tells about how they fine-tuned and pottered around until late at night or about the jaunts through Paznaun afterwards. If you grow up like this, it is almost inevitable that you will have a passion for vehicles of all kinds, and I couldn’t wait to turn 18 and finally get my motorbike driving licence.
To this day we still enjoy the sociable and good atmosphere in the guest garden or at the regulars‘ tables when we have motor bikers as guests. Chatting, talking shop, having a laugh and telling our guests about our favourite routes – that’s just how we like it! After the bike season, my father and I retreat occasionally to the workshop to work on our two oldies and give them a good revamp. Domestically produced vehicles that now belong “on the scrapheap”, such as the PUCH VS50 moped (built in 1954) and the PUCH 175 SV motorbike (built in 1956), are our passion. We also love good food and drink and are very attached to our Paznaun Valley. And yet it goes without saying that we are very familiar with the alpine region and its roads beyond the borders of our state.
